Outcomes and person-centred practice
Milestones Supported Living is pleased to host two workshops facilitated by Allison Short of Helen Sanderson Associates.
Helen Sanderson Associates is an international development, training and consultancy team. We work with people to change their lives, organisations and communities through person centred thinking and planning.
There is a lot of discussion about outcomes, and some confusion as well. The term 'outcome' can mean different things to different people. Helen Sanderson Associates have been using their expertise in Person Centred Thinking to help get clearer about outcomes that matter to the people we support, their families and allies, and to organisations as a whole. This workshop will explore our current thinking around this, linking to your local practice and an introduction to The Progress for Providers.
The workshops will feature:
- What is our current learning about Person Centred Thinking to support Personalisation?
- What does this mean for us? A chance to reflect and share our experiences
- Person centred theory and outcomes - A framework
- What does this mean for individuals we support? A chance to reflect and share our experiences
- What does this mean for organisations? A chance to reflect and share our experiences
- What next – what action can we now take?
Participants will be made up of Milestones managers, support workers and representative from other organisations. The workshops are relevant whether you are supporting people who have a mental health issue and/or people who have a learning disability.
