Warmley Wheelers

This cycle scheme gives people with health conditions and supported needs the chance to get into cycling. We offer specialist equipment and a safe, friendly environment to support people who would normally find it difficult to ride a bike.

We have a range of specially adapted bicycles for people with disabilities or additional needs – these include battery-assisted bikes, bikes with platforms for wheelchairs, recumbent bikes and a variety of trikes. Our tandem bikes mean that carers can be part of the ride too. You can ride the bikes on the Bristol to Bath railway path or in a safe area in Warmley Forest Park.

Warmley Wheelers is open. We have introduced new measures to help you stay safe during coronavirus. See details below.

You must book in advance. Please also download and complete our Equipment Hire Agreement and bring it with you to your first session.

You can book now by calling Project Coordinator Andy Underdown on 07587 034 366 or emailing

Our safety measures

  • Please bring your own helmet and any other safety equipment you intend to wear.
  • If you are unwell, or have any symptoms of coronavirus (high temperature, new continuous cough or loss of taste or smell) please cancel your session.

Volunteer cycle pilot

If you are a carer or support worker who does not feel able to manage the physical effort and responsibility of piloting our larger bikes, we can provide a volunteer ‘cycle pilot’ to ride with the people we support on the large battery assisted wheelchair platform bike and horizontal tandem. Our volunteer has been DBS checked and is fully trained to pilot the bikes. Depending on the level of additional support required, this provision might not be suitable for everyone.

The volunteer cycle pilot service is available between 10am and 12pm on Thursdays. You can book the volunteer cycle pilot service only by calling Project Coordinator Andy Underdown on 07587 034 366 at least one week in advance of the slot you wish to book.
