Milestones Trust celebrates five accolades at Care & Support West Care Awards 2026

Three category winners and two highly commended recognitions shine a spotlight on our outstanding colleagues and teams.

Milestones Trust is celebrating an exceptional evening of success after colleagues and teams from across the charity received three award wins and two highly commended recognitions at the Care & Support West Care Awards 2026 on 1st October 2026.

The annual awards recognise excellence across the West of England’s care sector, highlighting the hard work and dedication of individuals and teams who make a positive difference to the lives of the people they support.

Milestones Trust’s award recipients were:

Laura Tolan – Winner, Care Home Manager Award

Laura was recognised for the outstanding work she has led at Felix House in Weston-super-Mare, celebrating the achievements of the people we support, involving colleagues and people supported at the service in creating a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment and raising the profile of the service.

Mayo House Team – Winners, Care Team of the Year

The Mayo House team received their award for the incredible collaboration, creativity and determination they demonstrated in ensuring that a person they support who had never flown before could attend his mother’s funeral in Ireland at very short notice, enabling him to be with his family at an important and sensitive time.

Henry Nnaji – Winner, Care Home Front Line Award

Henry was recognised for his dedication in supporting a person to reengage in everyday life and community activities. Thanks to Henry’s encouragement and support, the individual now confidently enjoys visits to jazz venues in Bristol city centre, where he can now often be seen tapping along to the music (and sometimes dancing!).

Sophie Reed – Highly Commended, Admin/Office Support Award

Sophie was recognised for the excellent work she does balancing two vital responsibilities as both Milestones Trust’s Data Protection Officer and Caldicott Guardian, excelling in both roles and creating an environment in which data security is woven throughout the whole of the Trust.

George Cumming – Highly Commended, Dignity in Care Frontline Worker Award

George was recognised for the supportive role he played in the launch of a new mental health-focused service, and his contribution to the creation of a culture where staff felt empowered, supported, and confident in delivering compassionate, person-centred care during a complex period of change.

Hilary Crowhurst, Chief Executive of Milestones Trust, said:

“I am incredibly proud of Laura, Henry, Sophie, George and the Mayo House team for this well-deserved recognition. The Care Awards showcase the very best of support in the region, and demonstrate the skill, compassion and commitment that Milestones Trust colleagues bring to their roles every day.

“What makes these achievements particularly special is that they reflect the positive impact our teams have on the lives of the people we support. Whether helping someone reconnect with their community, supporting them through a significant life event, creating an outstanding service environment or providing essential behind-the-scenes expertise, each of these colleagues have gone above and beyond.

“Huge congratulations to all our winners and highly commended colleagues. Their achievements are a testament to the values that everyone at Milestones Trust shares, and to our commitment to supporting people with mental health needs and people with learning disabilities to live their best lives. It’s lovely to see their efforts celebrated.”
